First Steps into the Final Frontier In addition, as of the completion of this review (), beta patch 2.6.3 was released, which included some changes and bugfixes that I briefly tested. I will try to differentiate between which features are included with the patch vs. Please note that while this review is focused on the paid Federations DLC content, many changes have come to players as free content with the 2.6 patch, therefore additions with the patch will inevitably be discussed in this review. Without further ado, let’s jump right into Federations to see what’s new and (hopefully) fun with this DLC! However, unlike the unparalleled criticism 2.2 rightfully got on release, Federations and 2.6 have changed the diplomatic landscape of its various space empires for the better, along with the new systems coming along with it. The Stellaris Federations DLC and its accompanying free patch, 2.6 “Verne”, look to be the next biggest change since the economy and pop system rework in patch 2.2 “Le Guin” that came with MegaCorp. Stellaris is a game that has had its fair share of controversy over the last 4 years, with drastic changes to the gameplay via free updates and DLC.
